L'Oreal's Hot New Nail Colors for Spring

Let me tell you how excited I was to receive these nail polishes from the fine people at L'OREAL. Just this past February, I was trying to get  the perfect lavender color during my standing no-chip appointment. The color wasn't right so I opted for a white no-chip for Fashion Week. Then this came in. Royalty Reinvented by L'OREAL. As a mom, I need my manicures to last as I don't really have time to paint my own nails every other day. I was pleasantly surprised when this polish (with a top coat of course) lasted a whole 5 days on me. I know that doesn't say much but polishes last 1-2 days max on me, if that. What else did I like? Well, I never noticed the brush on my polishes, but this one has an angle to it that allows me to paint my nails like a pro. If you follow me on Instagram, you all know I can't. My nails for my Miami trip look professionally done and almost perfect. I cannot wait to get home and try the other two shades. But these little hands picked her favorites...

It's Springtime on Gilt

Even though the streets in Chicago are still covered in snow and despite the fact that my toddler and I spent over an hour playing outside today, I cannot wait much longer for Spring. It is not the heat I am after but Springtime in this city is one of the best. And with that comes a lot of walking. How else would you look cute and be comfortable if it wasn't for the classic espadrilles, wedged of course?! If you love this iconic shoe style, be sure to thank the Spanish brand and family by the same name, Castañer. You can also thank YSL (yes, as in Yves) in commissioning the first wedge back in the 1960's with the brand's current designer, Isabel Castañer. Castañer has been making espadrilles since the Spanish Civil War. Now that is a long time to stay on top considering this style comes out every Spring, year after year and every year we welcome it with open arms. While, I love the originals, it seems that buying it at full price right now would throw off my budget.

I know Spring is here but in a city like Chicago, it could be 79 and sunny one day and a rainy, 56 degrees the next. You just never know here. Therefore, rocking out to the latest Spring trends requires a back up plan. So while it's still a bit chill, enjoy your frock with a long sleeve top a neutral shades. Tomorrow while everyone is outside tanning in the park and enjoying an oddly warm 85, go light and be merry! Have fun with the ups and down in weather changes.

I bought this dress and have worn it once...all day. I ran errands in the afternoon with a jacket and flats. Then at night, I threw on a belt and red heels for a girls night out. I can live in them just as much as I can live in these shoes. I have the grey leather in a lower wedge but must get the white canvas for Spring. 

Compre este vestido y ya lo use todo el día. En la tarde con una chaqueta y zapatos plano y a la noche con un cinto y tacos rojo para salir con las chicas. Puedo vivir en este vestido tal como puedo vivir en estos zapatos. Los tengo yo en gris pero lo quiero en blanco ahora para la primavera.
