The 6th & Mixed {Outfit Post}
Sunday marked 6 years for the hubs and I. I just kicked off what would be somewhat of a staycation after a crazy long 2 1/2 weeks of a work, travel, work, travel and more work type schedule. We kept it simple and local by dining at a new tavern where the staff wore Bears jerseys, the decor was snazzy, the beer menu was fancy and my ribs were smoked. I had bbq everywhere and it felt great.

Sponsored Post: A Few Fun Things
If someone would have asked me, earlier this past Summer when was the last time I really had fun, it would be hard to answer. However, Trident's new campaign video where everyone starts singing and dancing on the train reminded how fun can be simple and made me think of the fun things I have done recently from coast to coast.
A stop at Santa Monica Beach on my way to LAX |
I put my feet in the Pacific Ocean for the very first time. Seems subtle I know but the fun part came when I yelled, "I did it! I finally did it!" with my arms spread wide eagle. Everyone was staring and I giggled like a mad woman. Creeping people out is always fun.
Sara and I making faces and feeling like rockstars in NYC |
I did Karaoke live for the first time at a restaurant turned bar after hours in Astoria, Queens singing hits from Ana Gabriel and Britney Spears with my girlfriend Sara while my husband sat and cheered us on. I hit those notes like a broke down Beyonce with a sore throat and no lozenges. Amen that was fun.
Like Lady Gaga, I was born this way! |
I asked complete strangers on the street in Bucktown here in Chicago if I made a "pretty girl". Implying that I wasn't a girl to people on the street and watching their reactions was fun and to my friends (the "real" pretty girls) who stood sideline to watch, a blast. Thank you HUN-TY! *snap*
Fun to me never meant staying out to all hours of the night or partying at all even. To me fun is what makes you laugh so hard your side hurts or having bubble making wars at home. Trident is the spark that ignites a journey connecting you to positivity you've always had inside.
This fun video is brought to you by great tasting Trident gum. Trident: see what unfolds.
This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Trident. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

What to Wear?
source |
I try themes for Analiese's birthday. Her first birthday being all about Elmo, I wore a fussy Elmo T-shirt that only I found cute. Her second birthday was all about Princesses. I wore a crown. This year on 10/23, Analiese will be 3. We are going for simple and I just want to look like me. I want to be comfortable, casual and still very much stylish. My typical Latino family takes millions of pictures so I still have to jazz it up a bit and like always, this mom is styling on a budget. I'll be heading off to JcPenny to view their new Liz Claiborne shop and for Analiese's birthday this year YOU will be dressing me! That is right. My next post in this 3 part series will showcase two looks from Liz Claiborne and you decide which one I will wear to Analiese's fun filled 3rd birthday. Here is where you get to play stylist. Make me look good. What Fall trend should I look for during my shopping trip to JcPenny?

Hey lovelies. Check out my guest post over at Daily Dream Decor, one of my favorite blogs.
{Snapped} In Black
This is the reason I started this new mini segment called Snapped. I was watching her for quite some time and then I just grabbed my camera and well, snapped the picture. After that I was running around like a mad woman photographing everything.

I loved being able to photograph fashionable Latinas at New York Fashion Week. I also loved waking up a few days later to see my work featured on the digital version of Latina Magazine. I am honored and blessed to have such amazing opportunities. Check out the feature HERE.

Eva & 20 Wardrobe Changes
Source AP |
I know. I don't post on Mondays but this is special. Thanks to the NCLR and GM, I was able to head out to Pasadena for the 2012 Alma Awards. The rush of Latin pride poured over me as A List Latino celebrities discussed their accomplishments and as if on repeat let us know that [we] are the future as the fastest growing minority group in the US. It was an amazing experience and one that I will not forget. Be sure to tune in on Friday September 21st at 8PM EST to see what I saw. To those who do not speak Spanish, no biggie. It is in English and has some pretty interesting guests. Cue Jack Gyllenhaal, you're welcome.
Disclaimer: Eva Longoria really did not have 20 wardrobe changes but tune in to see how many she did have.

{Snapped} 5th & Jane
While in NYC I was able to do a few things I would normally never do like go up to complete strangers and ask to take their photo. I'm no street style photographer but I did enjoy getting a few snaps of inspiration all of my own. I'll be sharing those here soon in a new mini series called Snapped but first let me introduce you to 5th & Jane, a popular style blog based in NYC. Can I just say how much of a crush I have now on these fashionistas who just happen to be...MOMS?! Yup. You can obsess now also. You're welcome.

Kicks at NYFW {Personal Style)
shoes: Payless | dress: Old Navy | jacket: Guess | jewelry: The Hundred Shop
Because running around in heels for work during Fashion Week killed me, I decided to drop into Payless for some good old fashion kicks. At the end of the day, my personal style was and always will be casual. This was the perfect look for a relaxing birthday dinner in Chelsea for my dear friend Sara.

FNO in NYC
So I went to NYC for my first ever Fashion Week and by week, I meant two days. I know it wasn't much but it was enough to drain my bank account during FNO, give me a nasty cold virus and give me all the crazy inspiration I need for next season. Yes, I'm itching for Spring again. I know, I just cannot make up my mind! Here are a few pics from FNO in NYC.
Because I cannot resist a limited edition lip color 413 BLKR by NARS |
Having a moment with Sara at DKNY in SoHo where model Karlie Kloss was posing a few feet from us. |
At Little Marc Jacobs having our books signed by the author. |

Cheers FNO and goodnight. |
